Workshop Summary:
The workshop will delve into the significance of Sayyidah Maryam (a) in the Quran and analyze discussions in tafsir literature throughout history and comparing them to her depictions in Christian narratives). Moreover, we will discuss the implications of these stories on feminine spirituality, modesty, and leadership, and illustrate God’s emotional awareness and care for the well-being of women. We will examine how the Qur’an is immersed into this worldview, and illustrate how God eternalizes various secret prayers of women in various prophetic stories while teaching us various social and ethical principles in the process.
