Make a Khums Payment to Mizãn Institute
Alhamdulillah the liaison office of Ayatullah Sistani in North America has granted us permission to use Khums for our projects (see here). For your convenience there are multiple methods for you to pay your Khums:
1. Check – Mail us a check payable to “Mizan Institute” and mention Sahm Imam or Sahm Sadaat or full Khums (both Sahms) in the memo section along with the marja’ you follow and an email we can use to send receipt(s) to, to the following address:
Mizan Institute
PO BOX 116456, Carrollton, TX 75011
2. Wire Transfer – Directly transfer money from your bank account and mention Sahm Imam, Sahm Sadaat or full Khums in the notes section. If you are interested in doing a wire transfer, please send an e-mail to [email protected] and we will provide you the account and routing number.
3. Zelle: Please send to [email protected].
There are zero fees associated with this method and it can be done online which makes it very preferable. For some, there might be a cap to how much they can transfer daily so they might have to send over the course of several days if the amount exceeds their daily limit. Please make sure to leave a memo regarding the details of your payment and an email address we can use to communicate and send receipt(s) to.
4. Credit Card, PayPal or Bank Transfer using the box below. For the least fees (max 30$), make sure to choose “Bank Transfer”.
Please note: Per the ruling of Ayatullah Sistani, the fees associated with the payment of Khums cannot be deducted from the amount due and need to be covered separately if one has the option of using a method that doesn’t incur fees at all (such as check or Zelle), or minimal fees (such as Bank Transfer), yet chooses to use a method with maximal fees.
